Sooo....

I'm officially on summer vacation. No one hit me please, but I'm already bored. Why can't every other job have summer vacation too? (that is, a vacation that lasts a little over 2 months, not one of those one week vacations ) Hopefully I'll get a lot of reading in and get back in shape though. I'm sure I'll get used to the boredom and learn to love it. :)
We had our LOST party last Wednesday, and it was a par-tay for sure. Pics here and here. It was a great time. Nothing like watching a show projected onto the side of a house.
I had a GREAT weekend, as usual. I got to meet Paul's family on Friday night at his brother's high school graduation. And i don't just mean the immediate family, I'm talking extended too. Talk about nerves...it was great though! :) I had an awesome time.
Saturday, Andrea and I worked on our tans and GNC smoothies. Then back to her house that night to eat dinner and watch Cold Mountain...really bad ending by the way. We also got to battle a really large roach. Good times.
Sunday, church and then to Andrea's pool. A few cute guys joined us.
Monday, Memorial Day, started off at Target with Andrea. Then we went to her parent's pool where I proceeded to horrify her mom with high school stories. Sorry Lynn! ;) Kenyon and Paul joined the party. Then, we all went to Sandy's for some Memorial Day fun. You can check out Paul's pictures here. Just overlook the one where I look like I'm about to peck someone with my beak... being goofy as usual.
That's about it.

The End

The end of the school year. Finally! Today was the students' last day. Still have to work tomorrow, but just the teachers. I need a vacation.
LOST party tonight at my brother's. Season finale. 2 hr. special! Come, even if you're lost about Lost. It'll be good times.
Later.

Yeeeehaw!

Last night Andrea, Joel, Kenyon, Aaron, Paul, and I went to a rodeo in good 'ol Ware Shoals. It was a blast! We ate "bowled" peanuts, saw really tall cowboys and lots of confederate flags, saw a monkey barrel race on a dog, and I got bubble gum stuck to my rear end. Thanks Andrea and Kenyon for being such awesome commentators. It was a DERN good time. ;)

I have 4 more days left of school until summer break. Only 3 with students, and those are half days!

Read Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. Awesome book.
Awesome is my favorite word. It's an awesome word.

Weekend

It was an awesome weekend! On Friday, we had trivia night at church. Our team brought it, while others unfortunately did not. We came in third, 3pts ahead of another not so lucky team. :( sorry guys...okay not really. Anyway, it was lots of fun! Then to Chili's for some Cinco de Mayo action. I was out past curfew as usual.

On Saturday, I lied out in the sun at Andrea's (yes Lee, that's "Andrea with the long driveway") and got FRIED! But that's what tanning is for right? Good times. Had a chill night with some friends and a movie.

Sunday was amazing beyond words. One of the most touching services I've experienced. I am so thankful for what Jesus has done with my life. I can't even imagine where I would be today if it weren't for His grace. After the first service, I was thinking about how grateful I am that Lee and Jill never gave up on me and continued to pray for me even when I'm sure I seemed like a hopeless case. So I called up my mom (another seemingly hopeless case) and told her she needed to come to church. Well, apparently she had the same idea and she came. When Perry did the invitation, my mother actually stood up. I can't even put my feelings into words. It's a miracle. Praise God.
(oh and i hung out with a cute guy who broke my poor little metro's ashtray) ;)

Spicy Hot

Work is pretty stressful right now. Testing is right around the corner...Monday! The kids are wired with the anticipation of summer break. I had 3 kids throwing up in my room on Friday, and I only have 1 bathroom, so you can imagine how that went. (Friday was our multiplication ice cream sundae party...too many helpings for some. ) So just when I'm wondering why I chose this profession, I get this picture on my desk from one of my students. All around the border it said "HOT SPICY HOT SPICY". There was a picture of me in the center wearing a shirt that says "spicy hot" and I'm saying "I am so hot and spicy!". It was hilarious! Funniest picture I've ever gotten from a student. True, in the picture I did NOT look hot and spicy, but hey-what a compliment! (even if it is from an 8 year old...)

On another note, church was awesome last night! I couldn't put it into words if I tried. Reminded me of how big and awesome our God is... why do I worry about anything when He is in control?!?! Awesome.

Watch Lost last night? Wow. I so called it with Michael...

Last weekend was great, week's been great, life is great... :)
